Pervasive DataTools Product Download Instructions

The information on this page is very important to ensure your DataTools product(s) are installed and configured to run correctly. Please read carefully!

All DataTools Customers

Pervasive DataTools will NOT run properly on a workstation where non-English versions of Windows is the operating system. We plan to support non-English versions of Windows in a future release of DataTools.

Pervasive DataTools will NOT run properly on a workstation where the Pervasive Business Integrator or Pervasive Data Integrator development seat and/or runtime engine is installed. If you prefer to run DataTools products on that workstation, you must un-install the Business Integrator or Data Integrator BEFORE installing DataTools. Use the Windows Add/Remove Programs utility to un-install Business Integrator or Data Integrator.

First-Time DataTools Customers

If you are a first-time Pervasive DataTools customer, select the latest build from the list of available files on the product download page.

  1. Click on the product link to begin the download.
  2. Save the file to a folder on your workstation's hard drive or on the Windows desktop. The file is a self-extracting executable.
  3. Run the self-extracting executable file and follow the instructions in the installation wizard.

Returning DataTools Customers

If you are a returning Pervasive DataTools customer and have purchased a different product or a subscription to extend the license of a DataTools product, compare the version and build date of your installed product with the latest version and build date that is available for download.

If a newer version is NOT available, there is no need to download the product. Simply wait for the license notification via email, launch DataTools on your workstation, and when prompted in the Launcher, click "Yes" and the new license file will download to your workstation.

If a newer version IS available, you must un-install the installed product from your workstation, and then follow the download instructions above to obtain the latest version.

IMPORTANT

If you have installed any version/build of DataTools prior to v8.17.0.2.10 (see Help > About in any DataTools product) in order to use the DataTools products that include any ODBC connection, you MUST un-install the older version and install v8.17.0.2.10 or newer. To Un-install Pervasive Data Tools:

In the Windows Control Panel, open "Add/Remove Programs" (Windows XP) or "Programs and Features" (Windows Vista), select Data Tools, and remove it.
