The selected license is not a Pervasive DataTools license
I am on an English Windows XP Professional workstation with no other Pervasive products installed and I have successfully gotten to the Launch button and when I try to use the product I get the error message I put in the Subject line. I am trying this software as a solution to a problem that involves moving data for several companies so this is not an idle test case. If this works for us there is more than a bit of income involved so I need to solve this as quickly as possible. Thank you
RE: The selected license is not a Pervasive DataTools license
Hi abnir,
We have found there are a couple of reasons for the "selected license is not a Pervasive DataTools license" message. If you are running English Windows, the error usually indicates that you have some remnants of another "Data Junction" or "Pervasive Integration" product on your workstation -- even though they may have been un-installed using the Windows Add/Remove Programs utility. So here are some recommendations...
Open Windows Add/Remove Programs and look through the list for any of the following:
If any of these applications are found, FIRST be certain there is no previous work (maps, data files, etc.) that you need to keep from those applications. If there is nothing of value, remove the application(s).
Next step is to do a "Search" on your hard drive(s) for each of the names in the above list.
If any folders are found with any of those names, FIRST be certain there is no previous work (maps, data files, etc.) that you need to keep. If there is nothing of value in the folder(s), delete the folder(s) from your hard drive(s).
After ensuring that no remnants of these applications reside on your hard drive(s), follow these steps to re-install DataTools:
Please let us know if this resolves the error, or not.

DataTools License Error
This error is usually the result of installing DataTools on a workstation where one of the other Pervasive Integration products is already installed.
Perform the steps in this knowledge base article:
Solving Installation Problems
Or install DataTools on a different workstation where another Pervasive Integration product is not installed.
NOTE: There is no conflict between DataTools and the Pervasive PSQL Database product.
Please let us know if you need further assistance.
Problem with a tryout license
I have installed the Pervasive DataTools, and requested a demo license for the Btrieve Data Parser module. When I start the DataTools launcher, I downloaded the license, but when I press the "LAUNCH" button a message appears: "The selected license is not a Pervasive Data Tools license"
I tried this on two different PCs, with the same result. The second one has only Windows XP professional installed, and no other software that can conflict with your tools
I'm in urgent need to try the product, can you help me?
Thanks in advance
RE: Problem with a tryout license
Hi gabriele.piani,
This error indicates you may be running a non-English version of Windows. DataTools currently does not run properly on non-English Windows. Please see the following pages on the DataTools web site:

Support for English Windows Only
If you are running English Windows, please let us know.
