Data Parser for Btrieve
Hello,
I'm interested in accessing unstructured data in several versions of Pervasive SQL (v7, 2000i, v8, and possibly v9). We have DDF files for some of the tables, but not all and would like the ability to easily create new DDFs by analyzing the unstructured data for the tables that don't already have one.
Firstly, does this tool work at all with Pervasive SQL?
If so, will this tool allow me to access DAT files without DDFs belonging to the above versions of Pervasive SQL?
Finally, is it possible to create new DDF files from this tool?
Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Data Parser for Btrieve
Hi,
Yes, DataTools supports both Btrieve and Pervasive.SQL.
The Data Parser for Btrieve supports Btrieve v5.10a through v8 as a source. It allows you to either manually parse (if you don't have DDFs) or auto-parse (if you do have DDFs) Btrieve source files and convert the data to a CSV text target file. For details, see this URL on this web site:
http://pervasivedatatools.com/datatools/parsers/product/btrieve
The Data DownLoader from Pervasive.SQL reads data from Pervasive.SQL v8 and v9 and converts the data to another application, database, or target file format. For details, see this URL on this web site:

The Data UpLoader to Pervasive.SQL reads data from many source applications, databases, and file formats and converts the data to a Pervasive.SQL database. For details, see this URL on this web site:

None of the DataTools creates DDF files. However, Pervasive does have a tool - called the DDF Builder - that creates DDFs. For details, see this URL on Pervasive's primary web site:

Hope this helps!
