Support for English Windows Only
DataTools does not currently support non-English Windows.
If you are running a non-English version of Windows, have successfully installed DataTools and accessed your license file(s), you will likely get the following error(s) when trying to launch a DataTools product in the Launcher in any non-English version of Windows:
- Some license files in the active license directory could not be opened or contain errors. Any files that could not be opened and read were renamed with a .error extension.
- The Selected License is not a Pervasive Datatools license.
- Error reading version/build info.
We apologize for the inconvenience, and plan to add support for non-English versions of Windows in a future release of DataTools. We will post a notification in this forum at that time, so please check back periodically.
Possible Workaround
Solution to Problem with License Files and non-US System Date Format
NOTE:
If you are installing DataTools on a workstation with a Windows 2000 operating system, you must be logged onto the workstation with full Administrator rights. Otherwise, you may experience a similar problem as described above. You will need to un-install and re-install DataTools while logged into the workstation as "Administrator". For detailed information about un- / re-installing DataTools, please see the Solving Installation Problems page.
