The InstallShield Engine (iKernel.exe) could not be installed

I run the PVDataTools-8.17.0.2.10-setup.exe and at about 60% through the self extraction process get the message:

DataTools

The InstallShield Engine (iKernel.exe) could not be installed.
the system cannot find the file specified.

[OK]

If I click ok it appears to finish the remaining operations and creates the directory in the start menu. When I click the DataTools shortcut in the start menu it says it is looking for LicenseManager.exe and that it cannot be found.

I was able to resolve this issue by following the instructions at:

uninstalling the datatools using uninstall.exe found in program files and then reinstalling.

Issue resolved.
