Trial Licenses

Hi

I'm currrently trying to trial the btrieve and the binary parser.
My license for the btrieve parser appears in my Active Licenses however the license for the binary parser which I downloaded today appears in my Inactive Licenses.

Thanks

Craig

RE: Trial Licenses

Hi Craig,

I moved all my DataTools licenses to a backup folder and placed a copy of each of your Data Parser licenses in my active license folder on my workstation. When I started DataTools, both of your license files appeared in the "Active Licenses" tab of the DataTools launcher as they should. So I have not been able to reproduce the problem you are experiencing...sorry.

I need some details about the workstation on which you are experiencing the problem, as follows:

  1. What is the operating system, and service pack level?
  2. Have you verified that there were no previous installations of either "Data Junction" or "Pervasive Data Integration" software previously installed?
  3. Did you verify/set the active license folder in the Launcher "Preferences" window?
  4. Are both of your Parser licenses in the active license folder as set in #3 above?

Trial Licenses

Hi Jo

I'm not sure what the problem is but please don't spend any more of your time on this.
I've decided that the btrieve product was the one I needed and have purchased this.

Everything is ok with this license.

Thanks for your help.

Craig

RE: Trial Licenses

Craig,

Before I go too far in my research, I need to know that you did NOT install DataTools multiple times on your workstation...based on the fact that you downloaded the DataTools install file multiple times. Please let me know...

Trial Licenses

Jo

The second time I installed DataTools was on a different machine.
I then ran it and downloaded both licenses.

Thanks

Craig

RE: Trial Licenses

Hi Craig,

I see that both of the trial licenses you have downloaded are still "valid" (per the expiration date on each), so I am researching the possible cause of the problem right now. I'll post another response as soon as possible.

May be it's the date format?

I cannot open Data Tools; my license is inactive
installed today but downloaded 26/4/08 ->Expires 5/1(January!!) not 1/5 (May).
Spanish Windows Vista.
May be the error is the date format?
