data extractor or?
I have a key value pairs file and each line does not contain the same number of key value pairs as they fluctuate. I need to extract the values from certain key value pairs and not sure how to go about it using data extractor or should I be using a different tool.
Here is an example of the data.
field01
trace_data=01ab01828f0490bf n 1198959504 2835 77661136
CallCenter=sanber-ms,ecda_Auth2Tier=Z,ecda_hvc=HV00, etc.
so let lets say I needed to extract out the ecda_auth2tier=value from the fiile. Can I do this in data extractor?

RE: data extractor or?
Hi sheridany,
From the description and example you provided it appears you can use the Data Extractor to extract only the ecda_auth2tier=value from the fiile.
When defining the Line Style Definition(s), use "ecda_auth2tier=" as one of the Line Style definitions.
Then on that line, use "Floating Tag" and use "ecda_auth2tier=" as the "Start Rule" for the Data Field Definition. Not sure what to tell you to use as the "End Rule", but use one character or a string of characters that consistently follows the data; e.g., ",ecda" as shown in your example.
If that doesn't work for you, zip and send me a sample data file, and we will take a look to see how to define the Data Field.
