new source connection for oracle 8.x database

hi, i am new to try this product. i am trying to use oracle 8.x database as source database, but when i select from GUI as source database, it pops up message saying "oracle database engin is not detectd, spoke oracle8.x is being simutated.". i can do sqlplus from command prompt and can connect to my oracle database via sqlplus.

any help ??

Details on how to properly configure the Oracle client on your workstation are included in the DataTools documentation. Click on the Help button when the Data UpLoader to Oracle Database is open. In the Help Search tab enter "Oracle", and open the Oracle help topic for details.
