Welcome to the Pervasive DataTools Community!

The technology behind the Pervasive DataTools has been in development and in the hands of thousands of users for over 20 years. Now, thanks to more robust delivery systems like the Internet and innovative ideas in the business realm, Pervasive Software brings a new concept to the way we deliver world-class data tools to you.

The Pervasive DataTools initial product offerings include a collection of data loaders, extractors, and viewers. Here's a quick summary of the product line...

The Data Loaders are categorized as either UpLoaders or DownLoaders. UpLoaders can read data from over 100 source file, database, and application formats, and then write that data to a specific target file, database, or application format. DownLoaders work inversely; i.e., they read data from a specific source format, and then write that data to any one of over 100 target formats. So, if you receive data from your clients or partners in a variety of formats and need to clean, transform, and map the data to your application, one of the UpLoaders is the tool you need. If you need to disburse your application's data to a variety of formats, one of the DownLoaders would simplify that task for you.

The Data Extractors enable you to extract useful data out of an almost unlimited variety of text and report file formats. An incredible amount of data is "stuck" in report files and cannot be read by most applications. With the Data Extractors, that data is accessible. Through the use of a graphical user interface you simply highlight some text and click to build the rules. Export the extracted data to a structured CSV file format that can be imported into your application. Or use one of the UpLoaders to further transform and map the data into your application.

The Data Viewer is possibly the handiest of all the Pervasive DataTools products. How many times have you received a data file for which you do not own the native application? So you can't see what's in the file. Frustrating, right? The Data Viewer can solve this problem because it can connect to and read over 100 file, database, and application formats, and display the data in simple-to-read tabular (row and column) format. And, of course, the price is...well, it's priceless!

OK, here's the really innovative part...

Pervasive DataTools are licensed on a monthly subscription basis! That's right...no need to purchase expensive perpetual software licenses. You can subscribe to one, or any combination of, the DataTools products for 3 months or longer (up to 12 months), and use the tool(s) for short-term or one-time projects at prices you can actually afford. What a concept!

Pervasive recognizes and acknowledges that everyone who works with data needs data tools, but everyone cannot afford to purchase enterprise-level software at enterprise-level prices. So, we're making the DataTools products available through this innovative business model. We hope it fits your needs!

Oh, and speaking of needs...you might need some assistance getting started with the DataTools products. So check out the Demos, Online Help, Knowledge Base, and User Forums. They're all available 24/7, and they're FREE!

That's it! Check back periodically. You'll find announcements about new product releases, an occasional rant, and some technical tips you may find as useful as the Pervasive DataTools! Enjoy!

How to move txt files over to Microsoft Word or works database

I have a disk that has names, addresses and DOB on it that I need to transfer over to a database file such as Works or Word. One the cd, the data is separate by " " and commas, How to I do this? I am stumped.
Thanks. I can get the info over onto a notepad and can copy that into a Word text file, but not over into a data base file. I want all the info on the cd into a database file from which I can print labels, or send form letter, etc. Thank.
